Infoman's Logo Gets a Fresh Look: Challenge Accepted!

When the legendary Quebec television news show Infoman called on creatives to reimagine their logo, we couldn’t resist. Infoman posted an open invitation online, asking designers to rethink their brand image as part of an upcoming segment by Chantal on the evolution of logos over time:
“Dans le cadre d'une prochaine chronique de Chantal sur l'évolution des logos à travers le temps, on vous sollicite sur ce que pourrait être, selon vous, le nouveau logo d'Infoman si nous avions à réimaginer notre image de marque.”

After seeing the post shared by clients and friends, we decided to take on the challenge. Given that Infoman’s logo is iconic, rooted in Quebec's culture, and closely tied to its playful nature, we knew we had to tread carefully. Their current logo, a clever homage to the classic Superman emblem, represents both the show’s comedic spirit and its charismatic host, Jean-René Dufort, who occasionally dons a superhero cape in interviews.

Our Concepts

We approached the redesign with three distinct art directions:

Minimalist and Modern: A refreshed version of the original logo, retaining its core elements and nostalgic charm while incorporating subtle updates to align with contemporary design trends.

Mascot Logo: Since Jean-René is as iconic as their superhero symbol, why not combine the two? We created a mascot logo that merges his recognizable persona with bold superhero elements for a powerful, playful visual identity.

80s Sci-fi: We reimagined the logo, infusing it with the retro-futuristic aesthetic of 80s sci-fi, where artificial intelligence takes the lead as the host of the show.

Info Woman: We explored a more feminine take on the logo, envisioning a scenario where a woman might step in as the future host of the show.

About the Show

Infoman is a staple of Quebec television, blending sharp wit with current events. Known for its satirical take on the news, the show, hosted by Jean-René Dufort, has become a cultural phenomenon, offering both laughs and insights on national and international topics.
